Who We Are

Established in 2025, Ram Ratan & Company (RRC) is a specialty materials company delivering innovative solutions for agricultural research and seed testing. We are pioneers in the manufacturing of pollination bags, seed packets, plant labels, germination papers, and are recognized quality leaders in nylon cage nets, specialized plasticware, and other niche agricultural products.

In addition, we are well equipped to support agricultural seed companies with end-to-end consultancy services covering regulatory compliance and liaison activities. Our expertise includes in-house R&D unit recognition and renewal with DSIR, export and import of seeds, overseas germplasm import, Plant Variety Protection (PVP) and seed licensing services.

We serve many of India’s leading seed companies, seed testing laboratories, and agricultural institutions, while also catering to select adjacent markets. Headquartered in New Delhi, RRC has a presence across more than 30 distribution points in India, supported by a growing network of distribution partners across the EMEA and APAC regions. This extensive distribution network enables timely delivery of our solutions, supporting customers in their time-sensitive research activities.

Founder's Story

Ram Ratan & Company was founded by Mr. Yogendra Gupta, a seasoned professional with over 28 years of experience in the agricultural research industry, including tenures at Sungro Seeds Pvt. Ltd. and Mahyco Pvt. Ltd. Through his extensive industry exposure, he identified the lack of reliable, locally sourced quality materials as a critical challenge in agricultural research and testing. This insight led to the establishment of RRC with a vision to build a comprehensive ecosystem for the development and supply of such specialty materials.

Today, RRC offers products developed specifically for the Indian market that rival global benchmarks, establishing the company as a market leader in specialty materials for agricultural research and seed testing.

Import of Germplasm from Overseas Institutions:

With over three decades of experience in senior R&D roles at leading seed companies, our professional team delivers end-to-end solutions for importing germplasm for research purposes from overseas institutions. We facilitate the release of imported consignments through close coordination with the National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), India, and international institutions. In addition, we provide professional services to seed companies across India for obtaining certification of Post-Entry Quarantine (PEQ) facilities from NBPGR for the cultivation of imported germplasm.

Renewal of Seed License and Product Inclusion:

Through the work experience over 30 years gathered in various leading Seed companies our team delivers solutions for Seed Industry clients all over India, for the Renewal of Seed License and Inclusion of New Product in Seed License. We prepare your documentation for inclusion of new research varieties and renewal of seed licenses across Indian states in line with respective state guidelines.

Recognition and Renewal of In-house R&D Units from DSIR:

With advisors who have extensive experience in seed companies and research institutions, we assist agriculture-based organizations in securing recognition of their R&D centres from the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India. Our expertise dedicated professional team at Ramratan & Company delivering solutions, for the registration of proprietary hybrids and varieties under the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Authority (PPV&FRA), New Delhi. We offering professional services to seed companies across India for preparing and submitting new applications, submitting seeds for DUS testing, and paying annual fees for registered candidate varieties.
